Office Assistant (Assistant Administrator)

The R.M. is currently accepting resumes for the position of Office Assistant to work Part-Time (3 days/week) to be trained and evaluated for a transition to Full-Time Assistant Administrator upon the retirement of the current Assistant Administrator in approximately one (1) years time.
A successful applicant will currently possess, or is confident in his/her development of, the abilities and skills to accomplish the responsibilities of both the Office Assistant and Assistant Administrator positions, as described below.
A probationary period of three (3) months is in effect for this position wherein the employee will be evaluated on his/her ability to successfully transition into the Assistant Administrator position in the time required.
Office Assistant - Primary Responsibilities
Provide support to the Assistant Administrator and Administrator in all aspects of municipal administrative duties, including but not limited to:
- General reception duties
- Accounts Payable/Receivable
- Office supply management
- Advertising/Website management
- Coordination with Foreman and other staff
- File management and general organization
Assistant Administrator - Primary Responsibilities
Provide support to the Administrator for all aspects of municipal administrative duties, including but not limited to:
- Assessment and taxation
- Tax enforcement
- Financial operations
- Payroll
- Zoning and subdivision applications
- Elections
- Implementing policies
Qualifications
- Grade 12 diploma
- Completion of the Local Government Program is considered an asset
- Other post-secondary education or work experience in a related field is considered an asset
- Computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, email, pdf)
- Excellent communication skills

Utility Manager

The R.M. is considering the hiring of a consolidated position, Utility Manager, responsible for all water/sewer infrastructure and the provision of other environmental and safety management services within the RM.
Scope
- Yellow Creek water and sewer, includes lagoon
- Crystal Springs water and sewer, includes lagoon
- Other municipally owned wells and related infrastructure
- Landfill and waste management
- Emergency planning, includes the appointment as EMO Coordinator
- Environmental planning and management (may include weed control)
- Safety planning and management (may include bylaw enforcement)
Qualifications
- Grade 12 diploma
- Post-secondary education or work experience in a related field(s) is deemed an asset
- Water & Wastewater Operator Certification (Level 1), or willingness to complete
- WHMIS 2015, or willingness to complete
- Valid Saskatchewan Class 5 driver's license
